Apple is tweaking the system requirements
If you want Logic Pro, MainStage or Pixelmator Pro via the Creator Studio, you must have fairly up-to-date hardware and software: While the one-time purchase version of Pixelmator Pro currently only requires macOS 12.0 or newer, the subscription version requires a computer with at least macOS 26 or an iPad with iPadOS 26. With Logic Pro, macOS 14.4 is no longer sufficient, instead it must be at least macOS 15.6. The iPad must use an A12 Bionic or better and iPadOS 26 is also required. Apple also states that some of the features rely on Apple Intelligence. This requires a Mac or iPad with an M-chip. The only exception is the current iPad mini, whose A17 Pro also enables Apple Intelligence.
Students pay significantly less, but have to forego family access
Two important new features that Apple says will also be found in the one-time purchase versions are visual search and transcript search (see here). Both functions require at least macOS 15.6 or iPadOS 26. An M-chip has to do its job in the Mac, and the A16 or A17 Pro also does the job in the iPad.
The Creator Studio usually costs 12.99 euros per month or 129 euros annually. The suite is compatible with Family Sharing. Students only pay 2.99 euros per month or 29 euros per year, but have to forego the option of sharing the bundle via family sharing.
