This is another original German recipe which is using sauerkraut, the most famous side dish of Germany. Make sure to get the original German Sauerkraut. Ingredients German Sauerkraut Potato Pancakes
600g potatoes
2 smaller onions
400 g sauerkraut
100 g bacon (smoked German bacon), cut into small cubes
3 eggs
50 g flour
salt, nutmeg, pepper to taste
avocado oil for taste neutral oil frying

Cooking Instructions German Sauerkraut Potato Pancakes
– Chop onions fine.
– Drain sauerkraut in a sieve, there should not be any liquid left, gently press all water out of it. C
– Cut the sauerkraut into smaller portions.
– Peel potatoes and grate them, let drain in a sieve or on kitchen paper.
– Mix sauerkraut with potatoes, onions, bacon, eggs and flour.
– Spice to taste.
– Heat enough oil in a large skillet and make 1 or 2 pancakes at a time; turn them frequently, when done keep them warm until all pancakes are made.
You can serve them with a curd dip:

150 g natural yoghurt
chopped chives and parsley
Salt, pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients until you get a smooth dip.
Serve the pancakes with this dip or if you prefer apple sauce, that’s a great combination as well.
