Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo recently wrapped up with the release of Chapter 25, bringing the sequel to an end with barely two volumes worth of content. Compared to Jujutsu Kaisen’s six-year-long run, Modulo was certainly short-lived, and yet, despite its shorter run, the sequel managed to deliver a truly compelling story.
As such, while the sequel story ended on a definitively happy note, fans simply cannot get enough of Jujutsu Kaisen and its incredibly familiar world filled with cursed spirits, sorcerers, and even aliens. Luckily, multiple signs point to Modulo not being the end for the franchise.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Main Character Is Officially Dead
Jujutsu Kaisen’s sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is finally here, and surprisingly, it might have gotten rid of Yuji in the worst way possible.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo’s Finale Sets up a Potential New Series
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo’s finale sees Cross and Maru’s Cursed Technique erase cursed spirits and also make it so no more sorcerers will be born in the future by almost completely eliminating cursed energy from future generations. However, the finale also points out that cursed spirits will still be born, as will individuals with Heavenly Restriction.
And, it just so happens that Yuji plans to track down and mobilize these Heavenly Restriction users to take down the few cursed spirits that will continue to be born. Much like Toji wielded the Inverted Spear of Heaven and the Split Soul Katana, Yuji’s plan involves gathering cursed tools with the cooperation of the Three Big Clans and arming the Heavenly Restriction users with them.

Seeing as Modulo’s finale does not see Yuji’s plan to completion in an epilogue or anything of the sort, this may just be the premise of Jujutsu Kaisen’s next series. This hypothetical new series could take place even further in the future, possibly following a team of Heavenly Restriction users as they travel across the country in search of cursed spirits for a very Soul Eater-esque sequel.
Furthermore, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo’s final chapter also reveals that Yuji will turn into a cursed object after his death, which also opens the door for a sequel wherein Yuji is reincarnated just like Sukuna. All things considered, story-wise, Jujutsu Kaisen definitely still has room for more storie, as long as Akutami is willing to give fans more.
Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki’s Collaboration Isn’t Over Just Yet

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo first surprised fans when it was revealed that Gege Akutami would only be writing the story for the sequel, leaving the illustration to Yuji Iwasaki. However, judging by how gorgeous and well-written Modulo has been, it seems like ths arrangement hss worked rather well for the two creators.
Fortunately, it seems like the duo has no intention of disbanding just yet, as the editor’s note accompanying the finale chapter of Modulo explicitly asks fans to stay tuned for Akutami and Iwasaki’s next work. This statement has only further fueled the speculation surrounding the idea of a new Jujutsu Kaisen manga.
Of course, it is possible that Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki return with a completely new series unrelated to Jujutsu Kaisen. After all, Akutami has famously expressed interest in writing an idol manga in the past. Whatever Akutami”s next work ends up being, it’s sure to be just as good as Jujutsu Kaisen and Modulo.
