A few weeks ago, version 6 of the vector and graphic design software Logoist was released and included, among other things, a completely newly developed vectorizer. Due to popular demand, Synium Software, operator of MacTechNews.de, among others, is now offering this functionality again in a standalone app. The old version corresponded to the routines from Logoist 4 and 5, while Vectorize 2 uses the new procedure from Logoist 6. It is also a universal app for Mac, iPhone and iPad. Vectorizing images – the areas of application
The conversion into a resolution-independent format makes it possible to scale the respective image as desired. For example, low-resolution files can be enlarged in this way – or a photographed logo can be prepared for further use. Comic drawings, sketches, emblems and even entire photos are among the obvious possible uses.
The source material can either be imported as an image file (JPG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC, GIF) or recorded directly from the Mac via a connected iPhone. Vectorization works best for graphics with many areas. The more level of detail you want, the more paths inevitably arise. Especially with photos, editing in a graphics app can become confusing at some point.

Vectorize 2 with more natural and better results
Shapes and curves are captured much more precisely, fine details are recorded much more precisely and color gradients are reproduced with noticeably higher accuracy. In some cases, the app even recognizes how a color gradient continues in the background behind an object. A lot has also changed on the surface, as it now has the current system look. Vectorize 2 can export as PDF, SVG and Logoist’s own format. You can find many more screenshots and examples on the product page.

Purchase and requirements
If you purchased Logoist 6 for Mac, you don’t need Vectorize 2 because vectorization is already part of the graphics app. As an introductory discount, Vectorize 2 currently only costs 9.99 instead of 19.99 euros. Purchase includes both Mac, iPhone and iPad versions. The requirements are macOS 15 Sequoia and newer or iOS/iPadOS 18 and newer.
