PRO-JECT SCORPIONS LIMITED MOTIVE TURNTABLE
The largest record manufacturer in the world, Pro-Ject, not only has a huge range of vinyl spinners in almost all price ranges. The Vienna-based company also regularly impresses with turntables that feature great cover motifs as a homage to great music legends.

The latest homage goes to one of the few German rock bands that made it onto the international stage and achieved world fame: The Scorpions. According to Wikipedia, the Scorpions are one of the most successful and longest-lasting bands in modern music history, with over 110 million records sold and 60 years on stage.

The Pro-Ject Scorpions Special Edition is based on the T2 turntable, a renowned audiophile belt drive model. The CNC machined base has been enlarged to increase stability. It is free of plastic parts and was manufactured with the greatest care so that no cavities are created and unwanted vibrations in the chassis are effectively prevented. The heavy glass plate ensures freedom from resonance and eliminates the disadvantages of plastic or light steel alternatives. – According to the manufacturer.

The design quotes the legendary album cover of “Blackout”, designed by Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein. Pro-Ject delivers the Scorpions turntable with a pre-assembled Pick it 25A pickup. The moving magnet system is adjusted at the factory and is aimed at listeners who want to get started straight away without any adjustment effort.

EIZO FLEXSCAN EV2400R 23.8 INCH BUSINESS MONITOR

SENNHEISER RS 275 TV HEADPHONES BUNDLE
This week, the Sennheiser brand introduced the RS 275 TV headphone bundle: a headphone audio system for the home that allows you to enjoy films, series and live broadcasts undisturbed and wirelessly.

​The RS 275 bundle consists of the ultra-light HDR 275 TV headphones and the compact digital BTA1 transmitter. The manufacturer promises breathtaking sound across the entire frequency range at always optimal volume. Thanks to the Auracast transmission technology with LC3 Bluetooth codec, the TV headphone set offers extremely low latency when synchronizing sound and image and a range of up to 50 meters.

SONY TURNTABLES PS-LX3BT AND PS-LX5BT
More vinyl spinners. The market for records and recording equipment is almost as big as it was in the heyday of technology, before the digital era. Sony is also getting involved here again and is now presenting two models in the entry-level segment.

The two models PS-LX3BT and PS-LX5BT are intended to offer uncomplicated music enjoyment for everyone who prefers or wants to rediscover the pure, authentic sound of vinyl records. Thanks to intuitive operation and advanced wireless audio technology from Sony, vinyl treasures can be experienced in high sound quality – whether via headphones or speakers. – It says in the press release.

Both devices are so-called fully automatic machines that move the tone arm onto the record at the push of a button and return it to the starting position at the end of the record. Music is output via cable or Bluetooth (aptX, aptX-Adaptive and Hi-Res Wireless Audio). A pickup, a three-stage gain control, an aluminum platter and a transparent dust cover ensure optimal playback and reliable protection. Both models support 33⅓ and 45 rpm (7″ and 12″) records. The packaging of the new models is made from recycled materials.

The LX3BT is the basic model. The LX5BT also offers “premium components for precise audio performance,” according to Sony. Comment: It’s nice that Sony is making turntables again. Maybe at some point we’ll get to the point again where not only cheap entry-level models with rather irrelevant features will be presented, but also such ingenious mechanical designs as the legendary PS-X555ES with “Biotracer” tangential tonearm. A dream of the eighties! My colleague Raphael Vogt rediscovered and revived this dream of a record player a few years ago.
