Do you send Christmas cards every year? I think it’s a really nice tradition – who doesn’t love receiving such a lovely greeting in the mailbox? In December, some of our loved ones send cards and it’s always great when they reach us. We put them all up, read them to the children and admire them for a long time.
Unfortunately, we can’t always get it together ourselves… but this year we’re really early and have some nice motifs to choose from! We took the photos for our Christmas cards a few days ago and immediately wrote down a few tips that worked well for us.

We ordered our Christmas cards here:
At Send A Smile I was immediately thrilled by the large selection of Christmas cards! There are many different designs for a variety of occasions – there is definitely something for everyone.
Personally, the cards in pink and pink appealed directly to me… that’s just my color world and I found the details so beautifully cheerful and colorful. It goes great with my gift packaging, right?

But we definitely wanted it for our Advent post too Christmas cards with photos send. It’s just nice to get a card like this and see how much has changed. A really cool idea that I stumbled upon there: cards that simultaneously announce a new address. Super practical! We could have used that three years ago… and even now I come across places where the old address in Wiesbaden is still listed.
There are also great variations with photos – I had to order a few test prints straight away. Should we take many photos or just one? Which motifs and style go with it? And which photos do we actually take?

Tips for family photos
Taking a nice photo with several people in it is not that easy – and with small children it becomes a bit more challenging. That’s why we have a few tips for you that helped us:
Real laughter. Smiling on command only works so well for our boys… and then it looks anything but natural and relaxed. Much better: fool around a bit and then get a real laugh.
Movement. Pick up a child, dance around yourself, jump… much more dynamic!
Several attempts. My best photography tip: If you take a lot of photos, you have a lot to choose from. If possible, don’t set a date when you absolutely have to take a great photo, but create several opportunities.
Nice clothes. I think cozy sweaters are great for Christmas photos! Feel free to make sure that the colors match – or even if they are all colorful and flashy, that will definitely look good too!
+ Nice extras. There are so many cool options, especially for winter and festive photos: fairy lights. Warm hats. Christmas decorations. Throw confetti in the air. Colorfully wrapped gifts.
This is a great way to capture the mood and also play around a bit for the photos!
Image editing Everyone is smiling happily, but someone has their eyes closed? If you have taken several photos in the same position, you can swap faces relatively easily and quickly using an image editing program. Just look for a tutorial and try it out… or just start your next photo attempt 🙂
