The second round of beta has now begun, with the exception of watchOS 27, Apple updated all developer versions. Only a few adjustments were noticeable in macOS 27 Beta 2. For example, the AirPort utility is missing after new installations, which means that Apple’s router era is increasingly coming to an end in terms of software. Apple also fixed some bugs in Siri, Spotlight, Apple Intelligence, app interfaces and improved system stability. The beta firmware of the AirPods Max 2 can now be updated via Mac, otherwise no changes were noticed. However, a little more happened with iOS 27. Some Siri improvements
An obvious innovation is the integration of “Write with Siri” as a button in the keyboard. This is the successor to the Writing Tools, which are used to rewrite or improve texts. Concrete requests can be communicated directly to Siri via voice input; the feature currently works in a much more static manner and is limited to specified points about the text style. In the Siri settings there is also an option to search for images based on marked motifs. Numerous beta testers also report that Siri AI reacts significantly faster in Beta 2 than before
RCS, Apple TV, HomeKit video
Anyone who uses RCS messages in Messages can now respond directly to individual posts; reactions appear directly on the respective content. The Home app has an additional option called “Update Apple TV” to remotely provide the device with a new system version. In addition, HomeKit camera messages are becoming more interactive – by long-pressing the message from a “HomeKit Secure Video” camera, the associated recording can be viewed directly.
Wallet, RAW photos
The financial overview is being expanded in the Apple Wallet to view payments and account balances for additional countries and accounts. However, it is still a work in progress and the function is not fully usable. Lastly, the Photos app remains: Since Beta 2, the same AI functions have been available for photos in RAW format as for all other images, i.e. cleaning, expanding or reframing.
