Apple is known for keeping quiet about its current projects. However, the technology giant occasionally gives hints about upcoming innovations.
For example, he pointed out major changes to his voice assistant Siri.
2026 will be a pivotal year for Apple, which is expected to launch a foldable iPhone and improve its AI “Apple Intelligence,” a technology that CEO Tim Cook has struggled to establish as a household name.
“Many will describe AI as Cook’s Achilles heel – and this criticism is not unjustified, although not due to a lack of ambition in the early stages. The deficit lies in the implementation,” Forrester analyst Dipanjan Chatterjee told BUSINESS INSIDER (BI).
The company typically makes big product announcements in June at its Worldwide Developers Conference and in the fall, when it typically unveils a new generation of iPhone. It also launches other products throughout the year, such as new iPads and Macs.
Here’s what tech analysts, insiders, and Apple itself expect from the tech giant in 2026.

Apple has released updates to its subscription services
Apple’s services business, which includes its subscription-based offerings, has seen consistent growth over several earnings periods. It stands to reason that Apple wants to continue innovating in this area.
On January 2nd, the tech giant released an update to its Apple Fitness service that it had already announced at the start of the new year.
New features include new training programs, an Artist Spotlight with training playlists dedicated to specific artists, and new additions to the Time to Walk program, which combines stories with music to listen to while walking.
A chattier Siri arrives
Apple first previewed an updated, AI-powered version of Siri at WWDC 2024 in a now-deleted clip in which actress Bella Ramsey asks Siri to remind her of the name of a person she has had dinner with in the past. In the clip, Siri was able to retrieve the name based on the previous context of texts and the calendar.
When Apple Intelligence launched in fall 2024, this version of Siri was missing. In March 2025, Apple took the rare step of delaying the launch, announcing that it would occur “next year.”
Apple confirmed to Tom’s Guide in June 2025 that the new Siri version would be released in 2026.
Foldable iPhones are also expected
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities, known for his Apple forecasts and supply chain knowledge, said in a note in 2025 that he expects Apple to launch the first foldable iPhone in 2026 with a retail price of over $2,000.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported a similar timeline and price for a foldable iPhone launch.

Rivals like Samsung and Chinese phone maker Huawei have been on the foldable phone trend for years, so Apple won’t be the first company to innovate its product lineup in this way.
Currently, foldable smartphones have a relatively “low market share” in the smartphone market, Chatterjee told BI in August 2025. However, Apple has the market share to make this form factor mainstream among smartphone owners.
“Apple will be a catalyst for growth in this category, as it has done before in the smartwatch business where Samsung has made its first move,” Chatterjee said.
An affordable MacBook has been announced
Apple analyst Kuo published a report in June 2025 about a more affordable 13-inch MacBook that could cost less than the $999 MacBook Air, according to Bloomberg, according to people familiar with the matter.
It would be the first MacBook to run on a chip designed for the iPhone, Kuo said. Kuo predicted that mass production would begin in the fourth quarter of 2025 or early 2026.
There are rumors of an iPhone 17e with major upgrades
In February 2025, Apple introduced the $600 iPhone 16e, an entry-level model that supports Apple Intelligence. Bloomberg reported in February that an updated version, the iPhone 17e, could launch with a new A19 chip and MagSafe charging capability. According to the report, the model will also switch to Apple’s in-house cellular and wireless chips, at the same price as its predecessor.

A new entry-level iPad with Apple Intelligence
The next version of the entry-level iPad could come with Apple Intelligence thanks to the A18 chip, Bloomberg also reported in February. As far as design elements go, no big changes are expected, with the exception of the iPad mini, which according to Bloomberg could get an OLED screen similar to that of the more expensive iPad Pro.
