In One Piece episode #1171, “The Heinous Sinner – Loki of the Underworld Freed?!”, after retrieving Loki’s key from Scopper Gaban, Luffy and Zoro went to the Underworld to free Loki while Nami returned to the banquet and deflected questions about their whereabouts. As that was happening, the Holy Knights of God zeroed in on the Walrus School and all the giant children innocently having fun, and it was clear that their nefarious plot, whatever it was, was well underway.
Back with Luffy and Zoro, they arrived in the Underworld to find Loki beaten half to death, and while he didn’t appear to be in any condition to cause trouble, Zoro was still cautious of Loki and left one shackle on to negate his Devil Fruit powers. As for Loki’s injuries, with Chopper so far away and the general severity of them, it seemed better to get Gerd to help, and coincidentally, she and the rest of the New Giant Warrior Pirates, along with Sanji, crash-landed in the Underworld after Gerd forced Rodo to tell her what was going on.
Hajrudin begged Luffy not to trust Loki, reiterating what the other giants had said about how he was a manipulative trickster who would only cause trouble if he were freed. Unfortunately for Hajrudin, though, all but one of Loki’s chains had already been unlocked, and with a malicious grin on his face, Loki stood up and grabbed his hammer Ragnir as he prepared for a fight.

Overall, One Piece episode #1171 was a surprisingly weak episode. While the scene of Loki standing up and grabbing Ragnir was animated beautifully, it was the only moment in the episode with particularly standout visuals, and as far as the narrative went, it was another episode that was primarily just setup, far more egregiously than previous episodes, and no amount of fun comedy could make that feel less tedious.
