Apple has reduced the number of product events somewhat and, when updates are not that big, has switched to sending out press releases instead of inviting people to a pre-produced event. However, there is still an intermediate form, namely on-site events with selected journalists – who are then allowed to take a direct look at the new products. One such event will take place in New York at the beginning of March, and Apple sent out the relevant invitations today. In view of the reports surrounding Apple’s product plans, it is quite easy to estimate what will most likely be about on Wednesday, March 4th at 9 a.m. local time (3 p.m. in this country). Several new Macs expected
Apple is currently preparing several new products. Of particular note is the updated MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. While the design remains unchanged according to all previous information, the notebook is likely to receive another significant performance boost. Since there is no further expansion level of the M5 yet, we can be very excited about the performance of the Pro and Max versions.
The Mac Studio is also due for an update, as reported just today. However, it is difficult to estimate whether the most powerful desktop Mac will be part of the product event – but it would be conceivable. A completely new Mac series could make its debut, namely the MacBook with A18 Pro. For the first time, A instead of M chips would be used in a Mac; Apple wants to enable cheaper entry-level prices.
Studio display
Anyone who wants to operate their Mac with an external display from Cupertino will probably be able to use the new generation of Studio Displays from March. Apple has already left clear traces in this regard, as a suspicious entry appeared at a Chinese regulatory authority in January. The “High Performance LCD Display” described could theoretically also be a new edition of the Pro Display XDR, although there were no rumors about this.

iPhone 17e, iPads
The launch of the iPhone 17e is also considered certain – the “Special Apple Experience” in New York is definitely a good place for first live experiences. When it comes to the equipment, it will be exciting because some of the rumors circulating so far contradict each other. For example, the question remains whether there will still be a notch or a dynamic island. MagSafe is likely to be on board, but the display supposedly remains at a refresh rate of just 60 Hz.
There are still two iPad series missing, whose limited availability in wholesalers speaks for itself: the basic iPad and the iPad Air are due for a chip upgrade. For the iPad it’s probably the A18, for the iPad Air it’s the M4.
Other products?
You probably shouldn’t hope for a new Mac Pro because Apple has apparently lost interest in it. Although it was recently said that a rebirth of the iMac Pro was possible instead, that would come as quite a surprise given the lack of more concrete reports. The normal iMac is also considered a candidate for updates soon, but the rumors are quite thin. The Mac mini also hasn’t received an M5 yet, so a corresponding presentation at the beginning of March is conceivable.
