Flagright
+++ The US investor Infinity Ventures, Sella Direct Ventures, Frontline and Y Combinator are investing $12.5 million in Flagright. The German-American startup, founded in Berlin in 2021 by Baran Ozkan and Madhu G. Nadig, offers financial institutions an AI operating system to combat financial crime. With the fresh capital, the team wants to “further expand its AI capabilities and strengthen its presence in the US market.” Moonfire Ventures, Pioneer Fund and Co. previously invested 2.8 million in the young company. Mona AI
+++ Saarland Investment Credit Bank, Saarup-Venture, Earlybird Venture Capital (Earlybird-X), Triathlon – Saarland University and business angels like Jonas Thielmann are investing 3.8 million euros in Mona AI as part of a seed extension. The startup based in Saarbrücken, founded by Felix Adam, Michael Adam and Denis Franz as a spin-off from Saarland University, has set itself the goal of “developing AI solutions to automate the recruiting, hiring and onboarding process for personnel service providers”. Seqana
+++ The Dutch impact investor Pymwymic, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Counteract are investing 3.2 million euros in Seqana. Berlin-based ClimateTech, founded by Jakob Levin, Stefan Gönner and Julian Kremers, combines, among other things, satellite data with machine learning to quantify carbon cheaper and faster than before. HTGF, Counteract, ReGen Ventures and business angels such as Axel Stepken, Stefan Gross-Selbeck, Klaus Kunz and Ben-Elias Brandt recently invested 2.1 million euros in the company. More about Seqana

Somareality
+++ The Romanian investor Catalyst Romania and existing investors are investing 3 million euros in Somareality – see incubator. The Vienna-based company, founded in 2019 by Adrian Brodesser and Michel Varilek, develops eye tracking-based biomarkers in order to be able to draw conclusions about a person’s cognitive state.
