I don’t know about you, but I like opposites. Not necessarily in everyday life, as the challenges are usually enough for me. But in fashion I love it. Maybe because for me fashion is often closer to art than function.
And in no art form does this sentence apply opposites attract as much as the combination of Lace and knit. Knit has that warm, calm, wintry feel.
Lace, on the other hand, is delicate, fine, almost a little mysterious.
For me, both together create a look that is never loud, but always tells something.

A rediscovery that really made me happy
I actually wanted to find something completely different.
I was convinced that my old plaid skirt had to be somewhere. After all, a skirt doesn’t just disappear. I thought.
But instead of the skirt, I had a knitted dress in my hand again that I knew: I own that! But somehow it had hidden quietly under another dress on the hanger.
And I’ll tell you honestly:
I was as happy as a schnitzel.
Sometimes the best fashion moments are the ones you never planned.
With the lace tights, the look immediately became harmonious for me.
This mix of warm knit and fine pattern fulfilled exactly what I love about such contrasts. It’s a little quiet, a little playful and still absolutely suitable for winter.

Knit embodies warmth, lace embodies delicacy.
And it’s exactly these contrasts that I love about fashion.
Great, but in the gentle version
Not all of us want to leave the house in a full lace top or a transparent dress. You don’t have to either.
Lace works wonderfully in small doses. A hem, a cuff, a collar edge.
Or just a top that peeks out just a little bit – so subtle that you look twice to notice it. I like these fine details because they don’t change outfits, but enrich them.
And above all, because they don’t specify, but leave space. For a feeling of well-being, humor, attitude, mood. Exactly what fashion should be for me.

And then of course there is the bold side of lace
I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t try out how far lace can go.
This transparent dress definitely belongs in the category: I’ll first look at it in the mirror and then decide. It plays with underwear, shows what you want to wear and requires a certain amount of self-understanding.
With trousers underneath it becomes more suitable for everyday use, with a jacket over it it is even almost socially acceptable. For a Christmas party it would probably be more of a conversation starter without a layer on top, but hey, that depends on the team. But what I love about it:
It shows how versatile lace is.
Not well-behaved, not just festive, but a material that feels completely different depending on the context.

Why lace suits me so well in winter
Maybe because it brings something nice into the heavily wrapped days.
Maybe because the combination with knits creates this warm and delicate balance. Or because it allows us to wear a detail that is not loud but still has an impact. For me, lace in winter simply shows that the most beautiful details are often found in the quieter months.

Finally, a small recommendation
If you want to get to the top, start small.
Tights are ideal.
A visible lace trim under a sweater works just as well.
And when you eventually feel like doing more, you’ll notice how well the material adapts. Fashion doesn’t have to start boldly.
Often one detail is enough to change something in the look – and sometimes you even find a knitted dress that you had long forgotten about.
Now I’m curious:
What type of lace feels right for you. Small details or a bigger statement. I wish you a wonderful 1st Advent and thank you for your visit and your time. And maybe you’ll recommend me if you like what you read.
THANK YOU 🖤
