As Luffy’s group crossed the bridge, Luffy suddenly felt a mysterious presence coming from the forest, one he also felt when they were trapped inside the Land of Gods. Despite the situation they were in, Luffy couldn’t resist the urge to track it down, and he leapt into the forest on his own while everyone else continued across the bridge.
One Piece’s Creator Is Making One Big Mistake With The Ending, and Elbaph Is Proof
Recent arcs have included stunning One Piece revelations that fans have waited decades to see, but the manga’s presentation of the story has changed.
Back with the rest of the Straw Hats and the Giant Warrior Pirates, after deciding that Luffy and the others were probably fine, it came out that the reason Hajrudin didn’t come for them at the end of the Egghead arc was because of trouble with his brother, the “Accursed Prince” of Elbaph. The man was a criminal who was locked up after killing his father, King Harald, to steal a powerful Devil Fruit, and if he were ever to be freed, it would mean the end of Elbaph.
That giant’s name was Loki, and as it turned out, he was the presence Luffy had tracked down. When the two finally met, Loki not only confirmed that they were on Elbaph, but he also declared himself to be the Sun God who would bring about the end of the world, and the episode ended on that note.

The one character fans were most excited to see when the anime got to the Elbaph arc was Loki, the star of the Elbaph arc, and the One Piece anime more than delivered. The first tease of Loki, for example, did wonders to set him up as a major figure, and when it came time for the proper reveal, the animation, music, and overall direction did wonders to make him feel big in every regard.
