Summer is coming and with it the swimming season. And I really enjoy swimming, I even imagine that with every year I get older I prefer swimming. But of course I also want to lie on the beach and laze around, ideally in super chic swimwear that doesn’t come off when you want to swim with it. And if you ask yourself whether a bikini is still a good idea after 50, my answer is clearly: Absolutely, if it fits correctly.

Ray of hope from Lycra: When the bikini suddenly becomes wearable again
Sometimes, very rarely, it happens: In a sea of wrong textile decisions, elastic boundary crossings and fashionable revelations, a brand emerges that reminds you that wearing a bikini doesn’t always have to resemble running the gauntlet. No, I’m not talking about the latest viral whiff-of-nothing from TikTok. I’m talking about swimwear that feels like a deep, understanding nod – and that comes from brands with history: Anita since 1886 and ROSA FAIA.
Admittedly, I’m a little suspicious now when bikinis are suggested to me. An algorithm happily suggests models that seem designed for people whose bodies are photoshopped and whose biggest beach vacation conflict is whether to hold the mojito in their left or right hand.

A bikini that fits is not happiness.
It is the result of the right brand.
Return to Reason: Why Anita and ROSA FAIA?
So I found my way back to Anita and Rosa Faia’s bikinis. Not because it was a fashionable aha moment, but because I know from experience: They work. They were there when other brands were still busy designing swimwear with questionable cutouts. I’ve known the brand for years and I always go back there. Because they deliver. Because they last.
Of course, there are now other providers who are getting better, but the sizes often fail for me. At Anita I can also try out the items in the store and see for myself the quality and cut. And if you still need the other colors, you can simply order them online. It’s like underwear, I’m not kidding you. In the end you have to have all the colors.

There is another way – with a feeling for reality
What really convinced me: These cuts are not cowardly, they are clever. They show skin without getting caught up in a challenge between body positivity and “please don’t burst the seams”. Anita and Rosa Faia’s bikinis do what I had long since given up expecting: they provide support not only physically, but also psychologically.
Because let’s be honest: Who over the age of 25 wants to spend hours pushing fabric into place every time they go to the beach so that half of their breasts or a curious butt section doesn’t suddenly come into the spotlight? Correct. No one. I want to swim, snooze, fight the kid with sunscreen and not look like a safety risk.

Style with substance: my bikini after 50 has to fit
It’s not like these bikinis are boring either. On the contrary. They are beautiful – in a subtle way. In a variety of colors, shaping without being squashy, playful without being embarrassing. It’s the kind of swimwear that makes you think, “Yes, that’s me. Just in synthetic fabric.” And I mean that in a positive way. They make you feel like you don’t have to work against your body, but with it. This is not a given. This is almost revolutionary.
Wearing an Anita or Rosa Faia bikini doesn’t make me feel like an extra in a Baywatch remake. I feel like myself: just waterproof. And that’s perhaps the highest compliment I can give a swimsuit.

No drama, no fuss – just summer
Summer is coming. And this time I’m not going to meet him with squinted fabric courage, but with a bikini that doesn’t make me a joke. Maybe that’s not a fashion statement. Maybe it’s just pleasant. And that’s completely enough for me.

Style IVE & COSIMA – mix & match with style
The COSIMA top comes with pre-shaped cups, integrated underwires and removable straps – so it can also be worn as a bandeau. Since the top isn’t available in an A cup, just try the B cup, which often still fits quite well with bikinis. The IVE trousers score points with their adjustable height – they can be individually adapted to your own figure.
