In this issue of TechTicker: Sony wants to have once again improved the noise canceling of its in-ears, Braun is bringing a new photo frame onto the market, MOMENT is presenting filter solutions for cameras and smartphones and Satechi has a new mouse at the start.

SONY INTRODUCES THE TRUE WIRELESS IN-EAR HEADPHONES WF-1000XM6

According to Sony, the new TWEs WF-1000XM6 reduce noise 25% better than their predecessor, especially in the mid to high frequency range. They promise reliable noise cancellation, even in noisy environments such as offices or cafes. The new HD noise-cancelling processor QN3e controls eight microphones. Two more than its predecessor.

The new speaker unit of the Sony WF-1000XM6 also ensures better sound, according to the manufacturer. The membrane consists of different materials for the dome and suspension. The soft suspension creates deep bass, the light dome produces clear highs. Every detail is reproduced precisely, distortion is minimized and high-resolution sound is guaranteed. Special notches in the suspension further refine the sound.

The Sony WF-1000XM6 support Hi-Res Audio Wireless over LDAC, DSEE Extreme, 360 Reality Audio, a customizable 10-band EQ in the Sony | Sound Connect app, head tracking and background music effect.

The Sony WF-1000XM6 earbuds have two feedforward microphones and a bone conduction sensor in each earbud. An AI-powered beamforming algorithm reduces ambient noise and accurately captures voices. The system should effectively isolate the user’s voice even in noisy environments or during conversations.

Each of the available color variants has its own character thanks to different textures. The black model appears reserved and luxurious thanks to its smooth, finely crafted surface. Platinum silver has a fresh, light appearance thanks to incorporated metal flakes and glass beads. The headphones are now also available in sand pink. This elegant color complements the range alongside black, platinum silver and midnight blue.

The Sony WF-1000XM6 offer all the proven functions of the previous model and support LE-Audio, the latest generation of Bluetooth audio. This promises extremely low latency – ideal for gaming. The battery life is enough for up to eight hours of playback per charge and up to 24 hours total with the charging case. Thanks to Qi technology, the device can be charged wirelessly. Around 25% of the plastics used are recycled. The packaging is completely plastic-free.

The Sony WF-1000XM6 will be available from February 2026 in black and platinum-silver at an RRP of 299 euros.

BRAUN DIGIFRAME 1084 16GB FOR PHOTOS, VIDEOS AND MUSIC
I had the impression that so-called photo frames – small screens that you put on your desk or windowsill and which then show your favorite photos in a loop – were a gimmick and a kind of one-hit wonder. I don’t know many users of such solutions, and for those who did, the thing now lives in the shadows in the electronic waste corner. But they don’t seem to be completely dead yet. Why else should manufacturers bring new devices of this type onto the market in 2026? Like BROWN.

With the BRAUN DigiFrame 1084 16GB, the Baden-Württemberg manufacturer BRAUN has developed a digital picture frame that is intended to make memories present again. The combination of modern IPS display technology, 16 gigabytes of internal memory and comprehensive format support transforms static images into a lively, multimedia experience, according to the provider.

The heart of the DigiFrame 1084 16GB is a 9.7 inch IPS display with LED backlighting and a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels in the classic 4:3 format. The IPS technology offers stable viewing angles and an even display – details remain clearly visible even from a side perspective. The screen has a diagonal of 24.55 centimeters.

There is 16 GB of internal memory for storing images and other media data. If you need more storage space, you can use SD, SDHC and MMC memory cards as well as USB sticks. Storage media with a capacity of up to 256 gigabytes and USB 2.0 as well as USB 3.0 are supported. Slide shows with up to 10,000 images can be played from memory cards or USB sticks – a function that can be supplemented by the option for background music.

In addition, a micro HDMI port with HDMI-In function expands the possible uses. The display can be used as an external monitor via this interface. The device works independently of a PC, but can also be connected directly to a computer if necessary. It is operated using the included infrared remote control or directly on the device using menu navigation. Additional functions such as an integrated calendar and a clock with automatic on/off function to control schedules complete the equipment.

Pre-screw filters for camera lenses are nothing special and are available from many manufacturers for a wide variety of tasks.
