The Stollen confectionery miracle in the snowy forest

Thick snow lay over the Christmas forest when Santa Claus took off his baking apron that morning and looked contentedly at the tray in front of him. On top were small, round Stollen confectionery balls – soft, buttery and thickly dusted with powdered sugar. They looked like tiny snowballs, so perfectly round and white that even Santa Claus had to look twice.

“Ho ho ho! They look dangerously good!” he grumbled and put the tray by the window to cool.

But the snowman in front of the workshop had the same thought. He blinked mischievously and shouted:
“Hey, Santa Claus! Ready for a snowball fight?”

At that moment the reindeer came trotting over – especially Rudolph with the red-hot nose. “We’re joining in!” they shouted happily.

And so began the wildest snowball fight of the entire winter. Snowmen formed quick balls like pros, the reindeer jumped to the side in a flash, and Santa laughed heartily as the snowflakes swirled through the air.

As the snow fell more and more slowly and everyone’s cheeks glowed red, Santa Claus brushed the last of the snow out of his beard.
“Come into the warm room with me,” he said. “I have a little surprise.”

Candles burned inside, bathing the workshop in a golden light. The scent of butter, cinnamon and vanilla still hung in the air. Santa Claus put the tray with the little Stollen confectionery snowballs on the table.

“I baked these especially for today.”

The snowman beamed – as much as a snowman can beam – and the reindeer snorted happily. They sat down together at the warm wooden table while the snowflakes continued to dance outside.

Everyone took a stollen ball. It was soft, sweet, cinnamony – and tasted exactly what makes Christmas so special: friendship, warmth and a little bit of magic.

And so the winter day ended: with laughter, candlelight and a bowl full of Stollen confectionery that was almost too beautiful to eat – but far too delicious not to.
