Ingredients for the quick baked apple from the air fryer
For this recipe we rely on absolute minimalism. You don’t need any exotic spices, just 6 ingredients that you probably have in your pantry in winter anyway.
The right apples: Why Elstar or Pink Lady are our favorites
The choice of apple determines the enjoyment. Many people reflexively reach for the Boskoop. In the air fryer, however, this often breaks down into mush too quickly due to the intense circulating air. We therefore recommend thisElstar or one Pink lady. Both are delicately sour, have a great aroma and retain their shape while being wonderfully soft on the inside.
Marzipan raw mass
The heart of the filling. Make sure it is of good quality with a high almond content. The marzipan melts very slightly inside and combines with the fruit juice to form a heavenly cream.
Ground hazelnuts
They provide the “crunch”. Hazelnuts have this slightly earthy note that fits perfectly into Advent. If you’re a nut fan, be sure to check out ours tooBurnt pecan creamto.
Apricot jam (The shine trick!)
Our secret weapon for appearance and taste. We brush the applebeforebaking with it. The sugar caramelizes in the hot air and forms a shiny, incredibly delicious crust – almost like candied.
Cinnamon & Butter
A pinch of cinnamon is simply a must. The little knob of butter on top ensures that the filling stays juicy and doesn’t burn.

Our recommendation: Preparation in the COSORI Turbo Tower Pro or the Turbo Blaze
We made this recipe in our absolute favorite: DemCOSORI Turbo Tower Pro. For us, this is currently the best hot air fryer on the market because it simply does everything right. Thanks to its smart tower design, it takes up hardly any space on the worktop (perfect for full kitchens!), but delivers incredibly consistent results thanks to its extreme power and optimized air circulation. Especially in direct comparison to the competition, this device is simply unbeatable, like ours Comparison test of double-deck hot air fryers has shown.

Good air circulation and heat distribution are crucial, especially when it comes to baked apples: the heat envelops the apple perfectly, caramelizes the skin without drying it out, and cooks the inside to perfection. A real power package that we no longer want to be without. If you would rather have a slightly smaller device with just one compartment, this is the one Turbo Blaze just right for you.
5 tips for perfect baked apples in the air fryer
To ensure that your first attempt is a direct hit, here are our most important learnings:
- The “safety floor”:This is mistake #1! When you cut out the core, under no circumstances should you pierce all the way to the bottom. Leave about 1 cm of soil to prevent the delicious filling from running into the basket.
- Don’t be stingy when filling:Press the filling firmly into the apple. As the marzipan becomes soft, it sags a little – so feel free to build a small “marzipan mountain” on top.
- The caramel glaze:Never underestimate apricot jam. It protects the shell from burning and ensures a high-gloss look. Without it, the skin often becomes leathery.
- Trust is good, control is better:Every air fryer heats differently. Check in after about 12-15 minutes. The apple is ready when the skin shrivels and the filling bubbles.
- The right topping:Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that melts on the hot apple, or the classic vanilla sauce. If you still have room in your stomach:Hot chestnuts from the hot air fryerare the perfect snack beforehand.

Ingredients
- 3 Apples e.g. Elstar
- 100 G Marzipan raw mass
- 3 EL ground hazelnuts
- 1 prize Cinnamon
- 3 flakes butter
- 3 TL Apricot jam
Instructions
- Prepare: Wash the apples, cut off the top and generously remove the core, making sure not to pierce the bottom (leave an edge of approx. 1 cm).
- Mix: Knead the raw marzipan mixture, ground hazelnuts and cinnamon in a bowl to form a sticky mass.
- Fill: Press the marzipan mixture firmly into the apples, allowing the filling to protrude slightly from the top.
- Top: Place a flake of butter on each filling.
- Glazing: Brush the apples all over and the top thinly with apricot jam.
- Bake: Place apples in the basket of the air fryer (we use the COSORI Turbo Tower Pro). Bake at 170°C for 15 to 18 minutes.
- Check: After 15 minutes, check the doneness (skin should be wrinkled, filling should be soft).
- Serve: Serve hot, ideally with vanilla sauce.
