iPhone 18 Pro: Models show all colors +++ Camera should be significantly more expensive | News

This year, Apple is significantly changing the way it introduces the iPhone: In previous years, all new iPhone models were always released in the fall, apart from the iPhone SE and iPhone 16e/17e. This fall, however, Apple will only release the expensive models in the form of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the new, foldable iPhone Ultra. The iPhone 18 without a name addition and the second generation iPhone Air will only be released in spring 2027.

Two new colors
With the iPhone 17 Pro, Apple introduced a very popular color alongside black and silver: “Cosmic Orange”. With the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, the company will expand the color spectrum of the Pro models: Instead of three colors, the customer should be able to choose from four possible housing colors. Silver remains in the range, Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue are replaced by “Dark Cherry”, “Light Blue” and Black.

The usually well-informed leaker Sonny Dickson has now shared some images of models showing the entire iPhone 18 Pro lineup:

Whether the new colors are as popular as “Cosmic Orange” will be seen in the fall and winter.

Camera becomes more expensive
There has been speculation in the rumor mill for a long time as to whether the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will have a new type of camera with a variable aperture. This would make it possible to control how much light hits the camera sensor – and thus provide better exposure and depth effects. The new lens system will primarily be manufactured by Sunny Optical. However, compared to the current seven-lens system made of plastic, the price of the camera increases significantly: analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects an increase of 50 percent for the camera.

It is still unclear whether the new camera system will also increase the final price of the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. At the beginning of May, analyst Jeff Pu published a report according to which Apple aims for the price of the new iPhone models to at least remain stable or possibly even fall – and this in a market environment in which various competitors have had to significantly increase prices due to increased component costs.
