KRUU from Bad Friedrichshall near Heilbronn is and remains a real hidden champion. The team, which relies on photo boxes, was recently aiming for around 20 million euros in sales by 2025. The company would like to continue writing this success story in 2026.

At KRUUfounded in 2016, is all about “unforgettable memories.” The company, which was founded by Philipp Schreiber, Jochen Dolderer and Oliver Grünberg in the tranquil Bad Friedrichshall near Heilbronn, relies on “mobile photo box systems”. These are usually used at weddings, birthdays or company events.
The team was recently targeting sales of around 20 million euros for 2025. The company would like to continue writing this success story in 2026. “Our growth will continue and we look forward to really putting the pedal to the metal,” says founder Schreiber.
In an interview with deutsche-startups.de, KRUU creator Philipp Schreiber looks back in detail on the past year.
2025 is just over. What was the highlight for you last year?
Certainly the opening of our new warehouse in Heilbronn with 4,500 square meters of space. We are well positioned for further strong growth in fulfillment.
What didn’t go well for you in 2025?
We are now a really big team and the growing pains, especially in the interpersonal area, were noticeable.
Which project is at the top of your agenda in 2026?
We would like to expand our photo boxes with more great functions and also incorporate our app even more into the entire customer journey.
What are your economic expectations for 2026?
We are extremely positive about 2026. Our growth will continue and we look forward to really putting the pedal to the metal.
What do you personally have planned for 2026?
Even less surgical intervention. It’s difficult for me in some areas, but I’m trying hard.
