Everyday stress, negative news, overtiredness and gray winter days without sun challenge us all mentally from time to time. Right now more than ever. It is well known that our hormones can also affect our mood and cause strong fluctuations. But the good news is: There are a few mood boosters that will immediately put you in a better mood (even in winter). It’s usually “the little, beautiful things” that can brighten our mood.
Today I would like to share with you my ten personal mood boosters that ensure moments of happiness even on difficult days. And as we all know, you can never have enough of it, right?
Tips for a good mood: Ten little things that brighten our mood in everyday life
1. A walk in nature
No matter how bad your mood is: a walk in nature ALWAYS helps. Of course this is even more fun when the sun is shining, but even on a gray winter day it has such a positive influence on our mood if we go for an hour walk in nature.

2. Spontaneous cake dates with a dear friend
And with a piece of good-mood cake like this, calories don’t matter at all.

3. Read a few pages of an inspirational book.
If you don’t know it yet: “The Let Them Theory” by Mel Robbins is an absolute recommendation!
4. Beautify your home with fresh flowers
Buy a beautiful bouquet from your favorite flower shop and then decorate it in your apartment = a guarantee of a good mood!

5. Turn up a favorite song really loudly… and feel free to sing along.
6. Enjoy good food
I don’t need to elaborate on this point, do I?

7. Dance
That brings us directly to point 5. Simply block out everything around you, listen to loud music and dance around the apartment.
8. Talk on the phone to a favorite person
… or even better: speak in person. But sometimes it just helps so much to talk to someone you love on the phone for half an hour.
9. Spending time with (my) dog
For me there is hardly anything nicer than a long walk with Fiete and Chris. And there is at least one moment every day when we cry tears of laughter at our dog’s cute behavior at home. A tip if you don’t have your own dog but would like to spend a few hours with a four-legged friend: the Hundelieb app.

10. Sports (in the fresh air)
It’s sometimes so hard to get yourself up for an hour of exercise, but the good feeling afterwards is ALWAYS worth it. Only in the last few years have I realized how incredibly important sport is not only for the body, but also for the mind.
What helps you best when you have a mental low? Which “little things” brighten up your everyday life?
