Display spotted for iPhone Fold? Samsung unveils “wrinkle-free” panel at CES | News

Anyone who is enthusiastic about technology has probably already heard of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas: It is one of the world’s largest trade fairs for consumer electronics, which takes place every January. This year is of course no exception and several well-known tech giants are represented. Unsurprisingly, Apple is not content with being one exhibitor among many and remains true to its strategy of presenting new products at its own events. However, SamMobile was able to catch a glimpse of a panel that will probably be installed in a flagship iPhone in the future.

Samsung with wrinkle-free panel at CES 2026
Samsung has been on the market with foldable smartphones for a while now. A particularly interesting development is the Galaxy Z TriFold, which can be folded twice. The device can also be seen at CES. But the company has another interesting product up its sleeve: a foldable panel that doesn’t show the slightest crease. To illustrate this special feature, Samsung is exhibiting the screen next to an unfolded Galaxy Z Fold 7:

The display of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 usually looks impressively “crease-free”, but depending on the viewing angle, a vertical fold line can still be seen. The new panel corrects this problem:

iPhone Fold: 7.8 inch screen?
The panel shown is likely to be used in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 – and in a modified shape and size also in the first foldable iPhone, which is scheduled to come onto the market this fall. Samsung is one of the contract manufacturers for the device, although Apple is rumored to be developing its own material processing, panel structure and lamination process. Depending on the source, Apple’s display may also be a little smaller: Depending on the source, the screen diagonal measures between 7.5 and 7.8 inches when open.
