AppleCare+ for Mac and iPad is becoming more expensive – prices for iPhone coverage remain (still) stable | News

High inflation rates are not only affecting consumers in the United States of America. Inflation is also an issue in Europe; for various reasons, many prices have risen significantly more in recent months than consumers and companies would like. The memory crisis, for example, is resulting in significantly higher costs for manufacturers of smartphones, tablets and computers; Apple was therefore recently forced to significantly increase the prices of Macs and iPads as well as Apple TV (see ). A service that quite a few customers of the Californian company use to protect their high-quality devices against damage and loss is now becoming more expensive: AppleCare+ now costs a little more than before. But there are a number of exceptions.

Covering almost all iPads will be ten euros more expensive
For the extended warranty, which from a legal point of view is insurance, Apple has been charging ten euros more for most iPad models since July 15, 2026. For example, it now costs 89 euros per year for an iPad without a name and an iPad mini, up from 79 euros previously. The monthly subscription has increased from 3.99 euros to 4.49 euros. Identical surcharges apply to all other tablets from Cupertino. The only exception is the iPad Air of the first to fourth generation, where it remains at 79 euros per year or 3.99 euros per month.

Apple is also increasing insurance premiums for Macs
In the case of notebooks and desktops from Cupertino, the prices for AppleCare+ are also increasing. The temporary protection for the MacBook Neo, for example, now costs 165 euros; previously it was 149 euros. The price for the annual subscription increases from 54.99 euros to 59.99 euros. Apple now charges 195 euros for the iMac (previously 179 euros), the same price applies to the Mac Studio. The premium for a MacBook Air 13″ with M5 chip has increased from 219 euros to 235 euros. Insuring the flagship model MacBook Pro 16″ with M5 Pro or M5 Max now costs 445 euros per year (previously 429 euros). When it comes to displays, however, Apple has decided not to increase prices.

For now, no increase in the price of AppleCare+ for iPhones
For iPhones, however, AppleCare+ does not become more expensive. Prices still range from 89 euros (iPhone SE) to 229 euros (iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max and many others). However, that could change when Apple presents the next generation of smartphones in the fall. Apple, on the other hand, charges slightly lower premiums for the Apple Watch SE as well as AirPods, AirPods Pro and Beats devices.
