Advanced Shield Ultimate is a browser extension that blocks ads, trackers, and related unwanted network requests and page elements. Filtering runs on your device.
Data we process
- User settings (enabled layers, allowlist, custom filters, site modes) are stored locally with chrome.storage.
- Optional blocked-count statistics are stored locally.
- The extension does not operate a backend that receives your browsing history.
Network activity
- When filter lists are refreshed, the extension downloads public filter-list data (text/JSON-style rule lists) from third-party list providers configured in the extension (for example EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Fanboy, AdGuard, uBlock Origin assets, Steven Black hosts, and similar sources).
- Those downloads are filtering data only. The extension does not download or execute remote JavaScript code.
Permissions (purpose)
- storage — save preferences and configuration locally
- declarativeNetRequest — block unwanted network requests using declarative rules
- alarms — schedule list refresh and maintenance
- contextMenus — optional right-click actions
- tabs — identify the active site for per-site controls
- host access — apply filtering and cosmetic protection on websites
