
Experienced technology leader brings proven track record of innovation and industry engagement as Jim Ganotis joins Destinations International as Vice President of Information Technology. With extensive experience in cloud transformation, cybersecurity and destination marketing systems, he will lead global technology strategy to enhance member value and digital capabilities.
Washington, D.C — Destinations International, the world’s largest and most trusted association for destination organizations, has announced the appointment of Jim Ganotis, PDM, as its new Vice President of Information Technology.
Ganotis joins Destinations International (DI) following more than a decade of technology leadership at Destination Cleveland, where he served as Director of Information Technology. Since 2011, he has led the design, implementation and maintenance of enterprise-wide technology initiatives, helping to build a nearly fully cloud-based environment supported by advanced cybersecurity tools and integrated data systems.
During his tenure, Ganotis played a key role in supporting major national events, including the 2016 Republican National Convention and the 2022 NBA All Star Gameensuring robust and secure technology operations for high-profile, large-scale gatherings.
In his new role at DI, Ganotis will oversee the organization’s global technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data governance initiatives. His leadership will help ensure the association continues to innovate and deliver value to its more than 8,000 members and partners worldwide.

A three-time InfoTech CIO Award recipient, Ganotis has been actively involved in the industry, having chaired committees for Destinations International and Simpleview. He also holds a Professional in Destination Management (PDM) certificate from DI, underscoring his commitment to advancing the sector.

Ganotis began his career leading in-store technology projects in the retail sector before transitioning into destination leadership. A Cleveland native, he has remained actively engaged in both industry and community initiatives throughout his career.
