When Apple introduced the iPhone The so-called “notch” housed the technology for Face ID and was replaced by a pill-shaped gap called Dynamic Island starting with the iPhone 14 Pro. There are now all sorts of theories about the next generation: Either the dynamic island disappears completely and only a small punchhole remains for the front camera, or it simply becomes smaller – or simply imitated by a software solution. The leaker Setsuna Digital is sure what Cupertino is specifically planning. Setsuna Digital disagrees with Jon Prosser
The front camera in the top left corner and live widgets are simply displayed: This is one of the big innovations of the iPhone 18 Pro, as Jon Prosser notes in a new video. Setsuna Digital comes to a completely different conclusion on Weibo. The leaker shows the Face ID module and its components:

The component on the far left represents the infrared flood illuminator, which disappears under the screen. However, that does not mean that other components no longer remain visible: the dot projector and the infrared camera to the right of it would still need a recess.
No punchhole at the top left
The Dynamic Island is still placed in the middle of the top edge of the screen, but takes up less space, according to Setsuna Digital. By the way, this is not a new finding: The leaker is of the opinion that the information was spread via Chinese and Korean sources, but English-language media translated it incorrectly – and mistakenly assumed there was a cutout for the front camera in the upper left corner. The iPhone 18 Pro therefore remains true to the Dynamic Island. However, the leaker did not comment on the regular iPhone 18, which will probably not come onto the market until next year.
