AI is popular, at least among investors. Many software companies intend to increase their visibility by integrating artificial intelligence into their products in order to attract new customer groups (and financial sources). This also applies to “The Browser Company”. The page viewer Dia, currently available exclusively for macOS, wants to make AI use as easy as possible. They hire developers for this purpose. Your latest addition brings a lot of experience: Marco Triverio was significantly involved in Safari development at Apple for several years. The successful poaching became known through a publication on Linkedin. Josh Miller, founder of the New York-based company, proudly announced that Triverio now works at The Browser Company. He described him as a “lead designer” of Safari. This means, says Miller, that the lead designers from each safari era are now working in his company, which overlapped with the in-house developments – because Charlie Deets also works for Miller. He was employed at Apple as a human interface designer from May 2019 to March 2024 and then moved to The Browser Company. The second project called Arc, originally announced as an “operating system for the Internet”, was recently largely buried – the company wanted to concentrate fully on the development of Dia.
Little known about Triverio
There is very little information about the (ex-)Safari designer on the internet. His website only contains his name in the form of an SVG file. However, the lack of a public profile is not uncommon among Apple employees – the company does not like it when employees reveal their job titles and work content. In 2012 he received an award for his smartphone project Feel me. The app transmits touchscreen touches in real time to communication partners to create an emotional connection. Apple introduced something similar with the Apple Watch: users can record a few seconds of their heartbeat and send it to other iPhone owners. If the recipient also uses an Apple Watch, the pulse is transmitted to their wrist using the Taptic Engine.
Every browser is now doing AI
Dia isn’t the only browser focused on AI features. In October 2025, OpenAI introduced Atlas, a browser built around the AI assistant ChatGPT. Google has been offering Disco for almost a month. Apple is currently holding back with AI functions in the browser, but there are already some intelligent functions: Apple Intelligence summarizes the content of a website on request, and “Hide distracting objects” helps users ban annoying elements such as automatically playing videos from a website.
