There are these bathrooms that look like something out of a hotel catalog: everything is tidy, perfectly folded, it smells like something with “bergamot” in it, and you immediately have the feeling that you can breathe deeply here.
And then there is my bathroom. With towels that have seen better days, shampoo bottles in every color of the rainbow and a pile of laundry that is piling up threateningly.
But you know what? It doesn’t have to stay that way. I have decided to see my bathroom more like a small retreat instead of a purely functional space. This can be done with a few simple living ideas! This is how you get this Spa feeling in the bathroom – even without expensive renovations or hours of clean-up.
Here are my best tips!

Why have a spa feeling at home?
Because it gets you down. Point.
The whole apartment doesn’t have to look like Pinterest – but such a small piece of everyday life that exudes calm does more for you than you think. Especially in the morning, when you’re already overwhelmed by the first glance at your to-do list, it’s really good if your bathroom gives you a friendly welcome.
And the best thing: you don’t need a big budget or a lot of space.
5 simple tricks for a more spa feeling in the bathroom
1. Pamper yourself with the right textiles
Get rid of the thin, old towels! For my little spa feeling at home, I bought fluffy towels like those in the hotel – and to be honest: that makes every morning nicer.
These soft, thick towels not only feel better, but also look instantly more elegant when they hang neatly on the hook or lie beautifully folded.
If you coordinate the colors, it will look even more harmonious. White is the classic for hotel vibes, but beige or a very light gray also work great.
2. Soft colors & natural materials
A bathroom immediately appears calmer if you reduce the color concept. White, sand, light gray tones – the classics. A small eucalyptus branch in a simple vase, a wooden tray for your beauty favorites: it looks much more like a hotel.
If you like, treat yourself to a new bath mat in a subtle color. Small effort, big impact.
3. Create a mood with light
Many people underestimate light. This bright ceiling lighting is great when you’re half-blindly drawing your eyeliner in the morning. But for wellness vibes, you need warm, dim lighting.
I stuck dimmable LED strips on the mirror and a few scented candles. You can hardly feel more fun in five minutes.

4. Stop the chaos: create order
Yes, sounds banal. But hand on heart: when was the last time you really sorted things out consistently?
Half-empty tubes, crumbling soap residue, a shower curtain that has seen better days – get rid of it. Open baskets and small boxes help you elegantly store the essentials without having to squeeze everything into the cupboard every time. You can even find beautiful bathroom baskets in drugstores or at Swedes.
Sometimes it’s the little details: a few drops of eucalyptus oil in the shower, a homemade sugar scrub, fresh flowers on the edge of the sink. A really good soap.
Or a bath salt for the tub that really smells like a “short vacation.”
All little things that remind you every time: that is your Moment.
Conclusion: Wellness is a choice
You don’t have to drive 200 kilometers and check into a spa to relax for a moment.
A little love for your bathroom, a few targeted steps – and you have a place that feels like a mini wellness hotel. What shouldn’t be missing from your personal wellness bathroom? Feel free to tell me in the comments!
