“We are at the beginning of a new era”

The RegTech Jupus has already collected around 8 million. The Cologne startup’s investors include the Munich investor Acton Capital. Fritz Oidtmann from Acton sees Jupus as having “the potential to set a new standard in the legal world of work.”

One of the many startups that you should definitely keep an eye on is the million-dollar Cologne startup Yupus. The young company, which was founded in 2022 by René Fergen, Tarek Stolz and Ralf Riesen, would like to establish itself as an “AI secretariat for lawyers”.

“We are at the beginning of a new era for the legal market. Artificial intelligence will fundamentally change the way legal work is organized and carried out. With Jupus, we are leading this change and enabling law firms to radically simplify and accelerate their work processes. Our goal is to cushion the increasing shortage of skilled workers and give law firm teams the freedom to fully concentrate on what really counts: advising their clients,” says founder Fergen about the idea behind Jupus.

The Munich investor Acton Capital and existing investors such as High Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) recently invested 6.5 million euros in Jupus. HTGF, Combination VC and business angels such as Felix Plog previously invested 1.3 million euros in the young company. “The legal market is facing upheaval and Jupus is ideally positioned to lead this change. The team has impressively demonstrated how legal processes can be automated through the use of AI – with massive increases in efficiency for law firms. We see Jupus as having the potential to set a new standard in the legal world of work,” says Fritz Oidtmann from Acton Capital.

Jupus is without question one of the startups that we will all be hearing a lot about.
