For example, if certificates have become invalid, the respective device or software can simply no longer be operated. Logitech users on the Mac are currently affected by such a circumstance, although this is by no means a case of discontinued support, but rather a rather embarrassing error: Logitech Options+ and G HUB cannot be started on the Mac because the developer certificate has expired. Unfortunately, in addition to the extensions mentioned, this also affects the updater, so automatic patching is not possible.

Logitech has since commented on the matter and confirmed the problems. In fact, due to the certificate error, you can currently no longer access the extensions and use the functions provided (e.g. button assignment, scrolling behavior). Automatic updates are not possible and the system blocks the update feature. However, a manual update can help, according to the manufacturer. Patch for older systems will follow
After the update, all functions and settings should be available as usual, promises Logitech. The fix is ​​available for macOS 26 Tahoe, macOS 15 Sequoia, macOS 14 Sonoma and macOS 13 Ventura, but not currently for even older systems. However, they want to follow up with another patch at a later date, which will then go back further. Although such problems shouldn’t actually arise, Logitech at least reacted quickly and made the described fix available just one day after it became known.
