ThinkPad X13 Detachable: Lenovo updates its repairable ThinkPad tablet with a larger display and more key travel

ⓘLenovo
For MWC, Lenovo is not only releasing new business laptops, but also a new business tablet. For the first time in many years, Lenovo is releasing a significant update to this product series, as Lenovo has had the previous Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable (available at Amazon) in its range for a long time without any major changes.
It will be replaced with the new Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Detachable. True to the name, Lenovo is increasing the screen size to 13 inches (3:2, 2,880 x 1,920) with the new model, which shrinks the display bezel. Lenovo also replaces the older processors in the ThinkPad X12, which was still based on Intel Meteor Lake, with Panther Lake and installs up to 64 GB of RAM instead of 32 GB. The screen also offers up to 120 Hz for the first time, and the brightness of the IPS panel increases to 500 cd/m². The battery capacity is 45 Wh, and the laptop offers two Thunderbolt 4 ports – which, like the internal battery, should be repairable.
Otherwise, there aren’t many fundamental changes to the Windows tablet, which is based on the Surface Pro’s design and is one of Lenovo’s few tablets with Windows. But there is one big change: the keyboard on the keyboard cover has been updated and adapted to the current laptop version of the ThinkPad X13. This not only saves Lenovo costs because an existing part can be reused, but also increases the key travel: from the previous 1.35 mm to 1.5 mm, like on normal ThinkPad laptop keyboards.
Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Detachable: Price and availability
The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Detachable will come onto the market in July 2026 and will start at around 1,950 euros.

Even when I was at school, I was an avid reader of Notebookcheck tests. I finally joined the Notebookcheck team in 2016 through hobby-like test reports and have been writing both test reports and news articles since then. My personal interest is particularly in classic laptops and especially business models. Technology should make life easier and allow us to work more efficiently, and good laptops are now a key tool for this. That’s why laptop testing is not just work for me, it’s passion.
