“TW Murder, police brutality I remember the news by the end of May in 2020, and I guess I’m not alone. The following weeks after the news of George Floyd’s and Breonna Taylor’s murder were a nightmare. Since I live in the US, seeing police cars creates anxiety. Every time. I know it’s not safe for Black people in this country. Take a look at the statistics.
And, for everyone who is living in Germany and who is saying now: “that’s just something that’s going on far away, somewhere in the US” let me tell you, Germany is not that much better, there is just little data collected about incidents of police brutality in Germany.
Every single encounter with the police I had was horrifying. I was treated disrespectfully every time. And, everyone who knows me, I’m not exactly a trouble maker – I often strictly follow the rules (I use the turn signal in the parking garage).
Well, George Floyd and Breonna Taylor weren’t troublemakers either. That’s not the point. In order to get hurt or killed Black people don’t have to actively do something wrong, they are a threat while existing.
Soon my sons won’t be complimented as the cutest things but as criminals and threats. I’m already sick to my stomach just thinking about that.
I’m tired.
I’m so tired.
Today and every day my thoughts are with everyone who has lost someone through police brutality. May you find the strength to persevere.
No justice, no peace.”
Lots of Barbie!
Attention, wonderful readers! Anyone still wondering why this Barbie-Film adaptation could be as good as announced, you can’t miss this trailer snippet from Hari Nef. Because finally a little light dawns on me too. Well, admittedly, I don’t want to see another trailer right now, otherwise I might know too much and could simply skip the entire movie from July 20th, 2023, but now everything suddenly makes sense. The big question remains: Will you go to the cinema?

Deep Dive by Edited – the new collection for the summer
Inspired by the myths and fairy tales of the underwater world, Edited’s “Deep Dive” summer collection aims to draw us into the mysterious spell of the seas. How fitting, as we’re getting into the world of Arielle just in time for the film’s release. Turquoise water, rough rocks and golden sand surround the new designs and highlight them. And the result? This turned out really well:
“Our trend for midsummer is closely linked to the fantasies of mermaids. In combinations of weightless sheers, gently curved silhouettes, shimmering looks and seductive necklines, “Deep Dive” creates a feminine, sophisticated and at the same time mysterious look,” says Clarissa Labin, Creative Director of Edited. And it can be even more colorful: because the palette ranges from refreshing blue and turquoise tones to pink accents and a sunny yellow-orange, which are wonderfully rounded off by neutral tones. The designs also rely on an interplay of proportions and mix short cuts with long and various volumes. The special key piece is definitely the extended skirt silhouettes with the sequin trim. But the rest also impresses with exciting materials and details such as mesh, crochet, shell and mother-of-pearl accents as well as textures that are reminiscent of sparkling fish scales Metallic shimmering bikini? The pleated dress, of course!
The lookbook was photographed with model Maja Zimnoch in Mallorca. The photographer Maximilian Bartsch was behind the camera. The styles were designed by Creative Director Clarissa Labin and her team in Berlin.

OUT: The Sander sofa
Objects of our days launch “The most relaxed sofa of all time”: The Sander Sofa! The ultra-soft padding is reminiscent of a mountain of marshmallows – and that’s exactly how it should feel. Fascinatingly soft and surprisingly dreamy! Passionate joy in design and references to postmodernism are evident in the design language. The idea of creating a sofa that offers maximum comfort and tranquility without becoming formally monotonous characterizes the design. Different modules and combinations give you the freedom to tailor SANDER to your needs. The covers are hand-sewn with masterful skill and a lot of time, are extremely robust and easy to care for.
The best? The construction should be as simple as possible, without any screws or stress. If that isn’t another plus point for Sander? From July onwards OUT available!

Maanesten x Helmstedt
I want to be completely honest: If Helmstedtthe playful label from Copenhagen is involved in something, then it can only be a good thing. And that’s how it is this time too, because the two Nordic labels, Maanesten & Helmstedt, are working together. And of course it looks so good that we can’t withhold the first drop from you.
Cannes loves Sandra Hülser
The court drama “Anatomie d’une Chute” by Justine Triet, in which Sandra Hülser plays the lead role, received the Palme d’Or this year, the most important award in the competition. But that’s not all, because in addition to the Palme d’Or, Sandra Hülser was also able to delight the audience: “The Zone of Interest” won the Grand Jury Prize – and once again Sandra Hülser plays the leading role. We have loved Hülser since “Toni Erdmann” at the latest and are doubly happy for her! Actor Peter Simonischek, who plays the father at Hülser’s side and tries to improve the relationship with his career-oriented daughter in the drama with a number of jokes and pranks, tragically died yesterday at the age of 76. But because it was so nice: Toni Erdmann for you!
