Victoria, Seychelles – Seychelles is reinforcing its position as a globally accessible island destination with the introduction of new European air links and strengthened international connectivity through its national carrier, Air Seychelles, alongside key airline partners.
As part of its continued commitment to facilitating international travel, Air Seychelles has announced the launch of direct flights between Seychelles and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. The service, operating three times weekly from 20 March through May 2026, will be conducted using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in partnership with Etihad Airways, marking a significant return to the European market.
Further expanding its European footprint, the airline will introduce a twice-weekly service to Rome starting 28 March. Scheduled on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the route will be operated with an Airbus A320neo and will include a brief technical stop in Hurghada.
Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mrs. Amanda Bernstein, highlighted the importance of these developments in maintaining the destination’s accessibility:
“Maintaining reliable and consistent connections is essential as travel patterns continue to evolve. We are particularly proud to have our national carrier returning to Europe, and we continue to value the collaboration with all our airline and tourism partners to ensure that Seychelles remains accessible, while upholding the high standards and welcoming spirit that define our destination.”
She emphasizes that Seychelles continues to collaborate closely with industry stakeholders to address evolving global travel conditions, with a strong focus on sustaining connectivity, supporting the tourism sector, and maintaining visitor confidence.
Despite recent airspace adjustments affecting certain international routes, Seychelles remains well-connected through a robust network of airline partners. Ethiopian Airlines continues to operate daily flights via Addis Ababa, linking Seychelles to major destinations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. Kenya Airways also plays a vital role, offering connections through Nairobi and enhancing access across Africa and beyond.
