+++ Scopo is our startup of the week! The young company Scopo from Aachen, founded by Björn Lindner and Alessandra Lanza, wants to establish itself as an AI for more efficient production processes. The idea says: “Our Operating System leverages smart devices to connect machine operators with specialized AI agents, receiving direct context about what is going on at the production line.” There are more new startups in our startup radar
Hansmann Family Office
+++ More than a Super Angel! The Austrian Super Angel Johann “Hansi” Hansmann realigns itself. The well-known Hans(wo)men Group becomes this Hansmann Family Office. In addition to startup investments, Hansmann is now increasingly focusing on venture funds, profitable companies, real estate and philanthropic projects. The Hans(wo)men Group will remain as a startup community. In recent years, Hansmann has invested in Runtastic, mySugr, storebox, busuu and kaia health, among others. The Green Deal Show
+++ 18 deals to start! The first season of the new startup show The Green Deal Showwhere founders meet creators with a wide reach, is over. Pitching while doing so SHIFT, Sirplus, fainin, OvulaRing, tip me, Moot, SOCHILI, Zircls, teethlovers, forpeople skincare, hey mela, Hülsenreich and becauseFUTURE in front of changing creator juries – including Marie Nasemann, Doctor Whatson and Alexander Prinz. Ten of the 13 participating startups secured at least one cooperation, resulting in a total of 18 deals. With three collaborations agreed, Leo Schley, also known as JustLeo, was the most committed creator of the first season. The sustainable electronics startup SHIFT won the audience vote and also received prize money of 10,000 euros. More about The Green Deal Show
Tractive
+++ The familiar pattern! At the Austrian PetTech scaleup Tractive It comes after the takeover by the Italian software group Bending Spoons to the expected job cuts. As ORF Upper Austria reports, the affected employees have already been offered a severance package. According to Trending Topics, up to half of the workforce could be affected by the cuts. The development is hardly surprising: Bending Spoons is known for profoundly restructuring acquired companies. In Germany, the takeover of Komoot for similar headlines. The news overshadows one of the largest startup exits in Austrian history ($900 million) and shows once again that billion-dollar takeovers do not automatically mean a happy ending for the workforce.
