Many controls get a new look when updated. So that designers can start experimenting early, Apple provides UI kit collections and templates for the various operating systems. Files for Adobe, Sketch and Figma can be downloaded. Further down on the page you will also find templates for Apple devices to authentically present your own screenshots. In addition, current versions of the fonts “New York” and “San Francisco” (with multiple cuts) appear here.
Icon Composer and SF Symbols
At the WWDC26 keynote, Apple announced that app icons in iOS 27 would receive additional layer effects that integrate the light refraction effect of Liquid Glass. With version 2 of Icon Composer, which is available for download as a beta version, you can start designing under macOS 26 (Tahoe) – regardless of Xcode 27. The in-house designer for animated icons, SF Symbols, is also available as a revised beta version of version 8.0.
New: Pass Designer
The Wallet app is pre-installed on iPhones and, in addition to credit cards, also houses boarding passes, concert tickets and loyalty cards. In the future, Apple will make it easier for providers of such access certificates to design them using the Pass Designer app – the beta version has been available to download since this week. But be careful: The new app can only run in macOS 27 (Golden Gate).
For command line: HTTP live streaming
For the first time in the software collection for developers, command line tools for HTTPS live streaming (HLS) can be found. The download brings together a total of eight tools; They are supplemented by exemplary scripts in Go and PHP. Apple offers these for macOS 27 on the one hand and for Linux on the other.
Game development
The fourth version of Apple’s Game Porting Toolkit is also in preparation; The corresponding beta versions are available for download to registered users. Version 3 of Reality Composer Pro, developed for AR and VR development, has been released; the beta version runs on macOS 26.5 (Tahoe). A WWDC session shows how to develop a game using the node-based editor without writing any code yourself.
Working in the Northern Lights: Thórsmörk
What the desk background is to the Mac user is the background to the Vision Pro wearer: By turning the digital crown, visionOS users can gradually adjust how much of the reality surrounding them they want to see. Impressive natural landscapes are available as an alternative. visionOS expanded the range of panoramic views of Jupiter (from the perspective of its Amalthea moon). A new view from Iceland is available for the next version of visionOS: Thórsmörk transports the user to a snowy landscape on the edge of a river with a view of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano. The environment combines the atmosphere of the winter scenery with the content that the user is currently viewing: films are reflected in the animated water surfaces, and aurora lights are added at night.
