#OOTD: JUMPSUIT LOVE – Instylequeen

unpaid advertising – because brand name

Hello my dear sewing friends,

This summer a lot of wildly patterned fabrics found their way into my wardrobe. The bright colors not only make us look fresher, but also brighten our mental mood. That was urgently needed in this special summer, when everything is somehow upside down due to the coronavirus. The jumpsuit quickly emerged as an absolute favorite basic in my everyday life. I’m particularly happy that hairbands have been making a big comeback in the fashion world for some time now. This hair accessory was more of an it-piece from the 90s and was only used in the bathroom for a long time to keep annoying hair out of your face while wearing a moisturizing mask. The great thing is that headbands work with any hairstyle and can enhance almost any outfit if you don’t overdo it.

Cut 124 according to burda style 2/2013 was quite easy to sew except for the slippery fabric and, apart from the pocket bag, can be done even by a sewing beginner. I recommend a light, yet sturdy fabric that falls smoothly. I also sewed this jumpsuit in an expensive Italian designer silk. Although it had a certain strength, it was still not durable enough to withstand everyday use. After a few wears, the silk showed signs of fatigue at the seams. I tried to save the jumpsuit by ironing on fliseline. Unfortunately, that didn’t work so well either and so I will probably only be able to wear the silk jumpsuit on special occasions. What was your basic this summer that put you in a good mood?
