Hello my love,
Now I can float like a honey hummer (not just in the garden), but also over the Hamburg asphalt. When I discovered the emerald green brocade fabric at STOFF & STIL, I immediately fell in love and had a look and cut in mind. Now the costume in the retro look according to the Burda style 3/2010, cut 102, cut 2009, 126 is finally finished. Both cuts were quite easy to sew. The A-line skirt in particular is easy to manage even for a sewing beginner. However, I wouldn’t sew another jacket with short arms because it’s quite impractical in everyday life. In summer the jacket is definitely too warm and for me, as a self-confessed frost-lover, too cold in cooler temperatures, so a long-sleeved sweater has to help. At the time of lockdown, I actually managed to sit in front of my sewing machine with the last scraps of fabric, as I was previously so proud of having used up my entire supply of fabric. You can see that everything in life turns out completely differently than you planned. For a sewing junkie like me who needs his fabric like the air he needs to breathe, it’s a total disaster! So that this doesn’t happen to me again, I have now decided (although not to use any material for hamsters) but to create a mini supply. After a little stroll in the fabric shop, a surprising number of light summer fabrics with colorful prints ended up in my shopping bag. I’m looking forward to being able to show you these on the blog soon.
