My City, My Sound with Reebok
Reebok Europe recently teamed up with MTV to release a series of dynamic stories from people who have chosen to push boundaries and actively pursue their dreams, wherever they are.
As part of this series, talent is presented, including in Germany. We hear inspiring stories about finding purpose, growing from family roots, traveling in childhood before settling in a new city, and building creativity where you were born and incorporating it into your goals. Here is an episode with roller skater Milla, who moved to Leipzig and found her new home there.
As part of the “My City My Sound” campaign, Reebok came to me with the following question: What inspires you about your city and why?
I have been living in Hamburg for over 10 years now and would claim to know every typical must-see spot and many more. Depending on the occasion, I end up in different parts of the city when it comes to content creation, good food or just hanging out. “What inspires me?” To be honest, my answer would have to be: “A lot!” This goes beyond places and basically includes everything (music, people, images, etc.). But that would go beyond the scope of the article and I’ll leave it open to explaining this in more detail in a future blog post. Today we’ll just limit ourselves to three places.
Elbphilharmonie
The Hamburg landmark is definitely one of my sources of inspiration. Since 2017, people from all over the world have been coming to Hamburg to visit the Elbphilharmonie. I am particularly impressed by the architecture and its viewing platform, which offers an incredible view of Hamburg. This tempts me to dream and remind me again and again that nothing is impossible. Where there is a will, there’s a way. Another aspect is the people. A wide variety of personalities and styles gather there every day. It’s always nice to discover something that you haven’t seen before in terms of fashion here in Hamburg. For me it’s always worth a trip.

Hamburg city center/town hall (square)
When it comes to content creation, I always prefer downtown Hamburg. The town hall square in particular is always reminiscent of Rome with its vibes – Hamburgers know exactly what I mean. 😉 Many tourists also gather at this place and enjoy the atmosphere and flair of the town hall. Hamburg’s city center offers other cool locations within walking distance, such as the Jungfernstieg (Alster) or its many shopping opportunities. There is something for every wallet and taste.

Star ski jump
The last spot on my list that cannot be missed is the ski jump. Here you can feel like you can do and experience everything. Be it to get your money’s worth with culinary delights or to spend the evening at the ski jump with friends. The whole of Hamburg meets here and has a good time in the countless bars. I particularly like the rancid atmosphere and the different groups hanging out there. During lockdown times, spontaneous parties also took place there that went viral on social media. All of these points entice me to visit there week after week and inspire me with its carefree attitude.
