Special highlight: Every evening before 9 p.m. the night watchman in costume announces the end of the market.
6. Stuttgart Christmas Market
The Christmas market in Stuttgart also opens on November 28th, 2018 and closes on December 23rd, 2018.
It is not only one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in 2018, but also one of the oldest in all of Europe!
The Christmas market is known for the lovingly decorated roofs of the stalls and for one – at 25 meters high – of the largest Christmas trees in all of Germany. Choir singing and Christmas music get you in the mood for the most wonderful time of the year.
7. Leipzig Christmas Market
The Christmas market in Leipzig is the second oldest and one of the largest Christmas markets in Germany. Its tradition goes back to the 15th century! You have to imagine that first.
It opens on November 27th, 2018 and closes on December 23rd, 2018 – plenty of time to plan a trip to the beautiful city and see the legendary Christmas market with your own eyes.

8. Christmas market Frankfurt am Main
The Christmas market in Frankfurt am Main opens on November 26th, 2018 and closes on December 22nd, 2018. In downtown Frankfurt you can admire the huge Christmas tree with countless glittering lights as well as the many sales stands and stalls.
In addition to gingerbread, fried almonds, chestnuts and mulled wine, there is also a special Frankfurt specialty that you cannot miss: the Bethmännchen.
In addition to the Christmas market, special events are planned every day, such as the artists’ Christmas market, where you can admire special works of art and skilled crafts.

9. Munich Christmas Market

10. Dortmund Christmas Market
In the middle of North Rhine-Westphalia, Dortmund will once again delight visitors from near and far with many highlights from November 22nd, 2018 to December 30th, 2018!
So if you want to stroll around the Christmas market a bit after Christmas Eve, you can do so after the Christmas holidays.
There are 300 stands to discover! This makes the Dortmund Christmas market one of the largest in Germany.
The biggest highlight is probably the tallest Christmas tree in the world, at a whopping 45 meters! Must see!
