Monthly Update #34: Hello December! -Josie Loves

To be honest, I briefly considered whether I should write an update at all this month, since I had already shared my thoughts with you in detail for a large part of November here. But since there is of course so much more to tell and I don’t want to interrupt this blog tradition, I’ll stick with the monthly update.

When I look back on November 2025 in the years to come, this wonderful holiday will certainly be the first thing that comes to mind. It felt so good to just switch off completely and recharge the batteries in such a paradisiacal place. The last few weeks and months have been quite challenging professionally – and I mean that primarily in a positive way, because we were able to implement so many great projects. But that also meant that we were just really ready for a vacation. Especially because we had a poison bait emergency with Fiete a few days before. At this point my urgent request to all dog owners among you: Please go to the doctor immediately if your dog eats something suspicious. Acting quickly will literally save your loved one’s life!

And now I would like to address another topic that received such an incredible response on Instagram that I would like to take it up here too. Here is the text that I shared with you in my story a few days ago:

I would like to share with you something that got me thinking yesterday. I am very grateful for our adult, reflective Josie loves community. Hate comments are extremely rare here and on the blog; when criticism does come, it is usually formulated constructively. And I personally think constructive criticism is very important, especially when it comes from friends or long-time readers. I always enjoy exchanging ideas here. Now there is currently a cooperation reel that has a very wide reach because the customer also plays it as an advertisement. A large reach here on Instagram always means that a post is shown to many people outside of your own community. So there are also many who don’t like something about the content. And yes, that always brings negative comments.

There are a handful of disrespectful comments under said reel, some of which insult me personally. Interestingly, only written by men. Nothing that affects me personally. But I always find it interesting to look at the profiles behind the comments. Also who likes these comments. Now I come to the actual point. There is one person who has generally liked every single one of these negative and sometimes malicious comments. A woman who, according to her profile, is a high school principal. An adult, educated woman who should be a role model for young people in her position. And that’s exactly why it makes me sad. It’s your right not to like me as a person, not to like the brand or our implementation of the cooperation, but in my opinion liking an insulting comment isn’t really better than writing it yourself. Because ultimately you are saying “I support this!”.

And that’s not okay. Never, by anyone. Especially not from people who should actually know so much better. Our digital actions have an impact, even the small ones.

And to all the others who have been following our Josie loves journey for many years: Thank you for showing us here for so many years that online interaction can also be respectful and warm-hearted. This means a lot to me!

Short additional information: The comments have now been deleted. Even though this wasn’t my intention behind my story, I am so, so grateful that so many of you reported the comments.

What’s coming up for us this month? We are currently back in our beloved South Tyrol for various projects. Among other things, to create Christmas content for a hotel customer and to implement new winter themes for the blog. We’ll be here until the middle of the month, then we’ll continue on to Austria and after a short stopover in Munich we’ll go home to spend Christmas with our family. What awaits you on Josie loves? Lots of winter and Christmas themes – and of course a big pinch of Munich tips. You can be happy!
