In the world of technology, some leaders stand out not just for their technical prowess, but for their unwavering commitment to lifting others up. Sravan Lingama MuleSoft Hall of Fame Ambassador and recent Golden Hoodie recipient, is one of those leaders. From starting a YouTube channel during the pandemic to being honored on the big stage at Dreamforce, Sravan’s journey is a testament to the power of passion, authenticity, and community.
A decade of MuleSoft expertise
With 11 years of IT experience, 10 of which have been dedicated to MuleSoft, Sravan has worked across the globe, from India and Poland to Canada and now the United States. But no matter where he is, his focus remains the same: connecting with the “Muley” community.
His YouTube channel, MuleSoft Tech Zone, has become a cornerstone for learners worldwide. What started as a way to share training sessions during COVID-19 has grown into a massive platform with nearly 30,000 subscribers and three million views.
The secret to Sravan’s success: Being “raw and real”
When asked about his approach to content creation, Sravan’s philosophy is simple: don’t over-edit. He records his screen in real time, showing his mistakes and how he solves them: “As a developer, I will start recording my screen… [and] “There will be mistakes,” Sravan explains.
“In real time when you do the stuff, you will get errors. But your audience will feel like, ‘Hey, I got the same thing,’ so it makes my videos more relatable.” His authentic approach has helped countless developers – including Salesforce employees – pass challenges like the Agentforce Champion, Innovator, and Legend series.
What winning the Golden Hoodie means to him
For many, the Golden Hoodie is a career pinnacle, but for Sravan, it’s a call to action. For him, “The Golden Hoodie award is viewed not as an end reward, but as a sign of increased responsibility towards the community.” He lives by the mantra: “Do what you do, [and] things will come to you.” To Sravan, this mantra means that true community work must come from genuine love and passion rather than the pursuit of awards.
Looking ahead: AI and mentorship in 2026
Sravan isn’t slowing down. This year, his content strategy is shifting towards the latest innovations in the Salesforce ecosystem:
- Promoting Anypoint Code Builder (ACB): Helping developers transition from Anypoint Studio
- AI advancements: Creating content around Agentforce and MuleSoft AI Chain (MAC) project (referred to as “MuleSoft Wipes” in notes)
- Cross cloud integration: Connecting MuleSoft with Data Cloud and the broader Salesforce ecosystem
Sravan’s advice for the MuleSoft Community
For those looking to grow their MuleSoft knowledge and presence in the community, Sravan has two main pieces of advice:
- Attend MuleSoft Meetups: Whether online or in-person, meetups are the best way to network, find job opportunities, and get answers about the future of the industry.
- Give back: Sravan dedicates 15–20 minutes every day to responding to messages on LinkedIn and YouTube. He encourages others to do the same, noting that “responding is the first important step,” even if you don’t have the answer right away.
