But the next three months are likely to be very exciting, because the next major event in the Apple world, WWDC 2026, is just around the corner. In addition, some hardware is still waiting to be updated.
iOS and macOS 26.5
The beta phase of iOS and macOS 26.5 began this week, but no major innovations have appeared so far – and the new Siri generation was completely missing. If it is actually just a minor bug fix update, general release could be expected from the end of April. There is certainly still a 26.6, although it will almost certainly be nothing more than fine polishing.
Mac Studio, Mac mini, iMac M5?
The M5 Max has now made its debut in the MacBook Pro, but the Ultra version, which is intended for the Mac Studio, is still missing. According to a Bloomberg report, the launch will take place this spring, possibly shortly after Easter. The Mac mini and the iMac are also still waiting for the M5, although the rumor mill has been exceptionally quiet regarding the iMac.
WWDC in June
Not long ago, Apple confirmed the important date: June 8th will be the annual summer highlight, namely the World Wide Developers Conference. The next “major releases” of macOS, iOS and Co. are considered safe topics; this time the main focus will most likely be on Apple’s strategy regarding artificial intelligence. That’s exactly what Apple indicated in the announcement because they wanted to “present incredible updates for the platforms including AI advances as well as new software and developer tools.” New home products are also conceivable, but given their dependence on Siri, they are unlikely to come onto the market before autumn 2026.
