Lufthansa City Center International Expands Global AI Strategy with Acai Travel Partnership

Lufthansa City Center International has partnered with Acai Travel to introduce AI-powered automation tools across its global travel agency network. The collaboration aims to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual workload, accelerate customer service processes, and support travel consultants with intelligent automation solutions for bookings, disruptions, and itinerary management.

Frankfurt- Frankfurt-based Lufthansa City Center International (LCCI) has announced a strategic partnership with Acai Travel, an AI-driven automation provider specializing in travel operations, in a move designed to modernize and streamline travel agency services across its global network.

The agreement positions Acai Travel as a preferred technology partner within the Lufthansa City Center International ecosystem, giving member agencies access to AI-powered tools capable of automating complex travel management tasks.

According to LCCI, the partnership is aimed at helping agencies improve efficiency, reduce operational pressure, and enhance customer service in an increasingly demanding travel environment.

AI Agents for Travel Operations

Acai Travel’s platform is built around autonomous AI travel agents that work directly within Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and customer experience platforms. The technology can operate in “copilot mode,” where travel advisors supervise AI-assisted tasks, or in a fully automated “autopilot” mode.

The platform is designed to handle a wide range of travel servicing functions, including:

  • Flight availability searches
  • Itinerary recommendations
  • Rebookings and cancellations
  • Schedule changes
  • Disruption management

LCCI said the system will help agencies significantly reduce handling times and minimize operational errors while allowing travel professionals to focus more on personalized consulting and customer relationships.

The company also noted that the technology can reduce training requirements and make it easier for agencies to deploy consultants without extensive GDS expertise.

Heiko Brix, Managing Director of Lufthansa City Center International, described the partnership as part of the organization’s long-term innovation strategy.

“This partnership reflects our strategic ambition to actively integrate innovative, practical solutions that deliver measurable value to our LCC members,” Brix said. “Acai Travel stood out for its ability to simplify complex workflows, increase efficiency, and help our agencies respond faster and more effectively to customer needs in today’s highly dynamic travel environment.”

Ron Glickman, Founding Head of Sales & Marketing at Acai Travel, said the partnership demonstrates the growing importance of AI automation in global travel operations.

The summit will provide Acai Travel with an opportunity to showcase its AI-driven automation solutions directly to agency leaders and travel professionals from across the international LCC network.
