Kitchen franchise with Kvik: This is how founders become part of a success story

The step into self-employment is complex – but with the Danish living brand Kvik as a strong partner in the kitchen industry, the dream of owning your own business becomes reality.

Kvik A/S

2021 was a special year for Ralph and Mai Nissen. They opened the very first Kvik studio in Germany in Hamburg’s old town. Five years later it is clear: the decision was absolutely right. The studio is running successfully, its fifth anniversary will be celebrated this summer – and Ralph and Mai have just extended their contract for another five years.

The Berlin Kvik studio, which opened in July 2025, is also developing well, as are the other studios in Bremen, Hanover and Lübeck. The Berlin franchise partners Johannes, originally from the music industry, and Toralf, a qualified industrial engineer, show: Franchisees do not have to come from the kitchen industry. Entrepreneurial ambition and passion for design are crucial.

The kitchen industry as an opportunity

For over 40 years, Kvik has stood for high-quality Danish design at surprisingly low prices. The brand now operates more than 180 studios in 13 countries. “Running a Kvik studio means shaping your own future,” explains Kvik CEO Claus Flyger Pejstrup. The examples from Hamburg and Berlin are not the only examples of how successful this can be. Kvik studios achieve an average turnover of two million euros per year. The most successful partners even reach ten to twelve million euros.

Strong support from day one

Kvik’s franchise concept is designed to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with comprehensive support: from the location search to financing advice to ongoing operations, the Kvik team supports its partners. Digital marketing ensures appointments from day one. Franchise partners sit in on existing studios and undergo comprehensive training at the Kvik Academy. Professional showroom concepts, updated twice a year, keep the studios fresh and inspiring.

Danish design with good intentions

All products are made from recycled materials and FSC-certified wood. It is transported in flat packaging to reduce CO₂ emissions and is assembled on site in Germany. Claus Johnsen, Category Management Director at Kvik, explains: “At Kvik we use recycled materials in every kitchen. We can even quantify the footprint of the new dream kitchen – for long-lasting kitchens with a clear conscience.”

With a minimum investment of 40,000 euros, motivated founders can realize their dream of owning their own business. Kvik continues to expand in Germany and welcomes interested parties at any time.
