iPhone rumors: RAM equipment iPhone 18 +++ scheduling iPhone Ultra | News

This week, reports made the rounds that one of Apple’s main suppliers clearly indicated in an annual report that they could not expect the basic model of the iPhone 18 until spring 2027 (see article). Another source now provides information about the device’s features, more precisely the RAM configuration. You can probably expect a significant increase. While only 8 GB are used in an iPhone 17, it would be 50 percent more in the iPhone 18.

12GB enables the device to run the most advanced local, memory-hungry AI models. Apple said at WWDC that the new Siri voices and the improved dictation function are only possible with 12 GB of RAM – which so far only applies to the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Despite the tense situation on the memory market, Apple obviously does not want to bring a new iPhone onto the market that has such limitations.

Scheduling iPhone Ultra supposedly safe
While the schedule for the regular iPhone 18 now seems comparatively clear, contradictory information continues to circulate about the first foldable iPhone. Several reports recently suggested a delay until December or even early 2027. The hinge made of liquid metal is particularly demanding – but the assembly of the motherboard with particularly compact components also exceeds the level of complexity of previous iPhones.

The well-known leaker Fixed Focus Digital now states that, according to his information, all difficulties can obviously be gotten under control. He does not assume a significant shift and contradicts corresponding reports. He had previously stated that the most likely scenario would be a joint launch with the iPhone 18 Pro models. If there is a postponement at all, it would be a maximum of one month – which would mean sales start in October.
