Significant plus compared to the 17 Pro Max?
According to Macworld, the iPhone 18 Pro Max has up to 5,425 mAh, whereas its direct predecessor currently only has 5,088 mAh. The wording “up to” is important because there are likely to be two versions again – with and without a physical SIM. Since there is slightly less space available in such models, the battery is slightly smaller. According to the report, the capacity in this case is only 5,235 mAh, which would still correspond to an increase of around 400 mAh.
Also more efficient components
As usual, it is difficult to estimate in advance how much of this additional storage capacity will flow into longer battery life. More energy-intensive components often eat up some of it, but this time it will look a little different. Both the switch to an in-house mobile phone chip and the more efficient A20 Pro are likely to result in more staying power. There may also be changes to the display, and thanks to LTPO+ you could even get a little more out of it.
Data from the Tata break-in?
Where the data comes from cannot be proven beyond doubt, but several reports about it made the rounds. It is suspected that the information in question was obtained from the leaked documents after the successful data breach at the Indian iPhone manufacturer Tata. This revealed accurate details about suppliers and components – Apple’s legal department now has its hands full trying to contain the spread.
