“Siri 2.0” will have its own app, but can also be accessed as usual via the lock and home screen – either with voice commands or by text input. Apple will also visually differentiate the new Siri generation from the very outdated first Siri generation. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg now wants to know which direction things are going.
WWDC graphic provides clues
According to Bloomberg, the invitation graphics for the Worldwide Developers Conference are heavily based on the upcoming Siri user interface:
The new logo and input fields should be in a similar style – with lots of glass and glow effects. Even the insert marker in input fields should have this look.
Only in dark mode
For the operating system and apps, the user can specify whether they would like to use them in dark or light mode, including automatic switching depending on the time of day. However, this does not seem to be the case with the Siri interface or the upcoming Siri app, because according to Bloomberg it is always black, regardless of user preference. This could be because graphics like the WWDC invitation cards don’t work on light backgrounds.
