iCloud content syncs properly again
Although iOS 26.4 came with some new features, it also caused annoyance with an annoying error in the CloudKit framework: Content synchronized via iCloud often stalled and was not always changed accordingly on other devices with the same Apple account. This affected, for example, the photo library or Apple’s in-house password app. The phenomenon also occurred in many third-party apps. Some users also reported that deleted calendar entries disappeared on some devices, but continued to appear on other devices. iOS and iPadOS 26.4.1 address exactly this problem, among other things.
Stolen Device Protection active on company-managed devices
Another change affects iPhones and iPads that are managed in companies. The new update enables Stolen Device Protection mode on these devices. If the iDevice is not in familiar places such as the workplace, users must identify themselves via Touch ID or Face ID to gain access to saved passwords or credit card details, for example. In such cases, entering the device code is no longer sufficient. Certain actions then require a second biometric authentication with a one-hour delay. To turn off the mode, users go to Settings and tap Privacy & Security > Stolen Device Protection.
