If you want to know which of your WhatsApp contacts are currently active, you have to browse through all the chats individually to determine their online status. As is well known, this is displayed at the top of the screen, directly under the name of the respective contact. This procedure can take quite a bit of time, as most users of Meta’s messenger communicate with more than just a handful of friends, acquaintances, relatives or business partners. In the future, this task should become much more convenient and can be completed much faster: WhatsApp is working on a “Contacts Hub” that offers an overview of all active contacts.

The Contacts Hub appears in the WhatsApp settings, right below your own profile picture. The new feature was discovered a few days ago by WABetaInfo in the latest beta version 26.20.10.70 of the WhatsApp app for iOS. It presents four preferred contacts at the top, followed by all active contacts at the time of the call as well as those who were online a few minutes ago. The app also offers the option of searching the contacts displayed and sorting the list according to various criteria. Phone numbers can also be added manually or by scanning a QR code.

According to WABetaInfo, the Contacts Hub respects the privacy settings of all contacts. Anyone who has deactivated the transmission of their online status will not appear in the list at all. The online activity is only displayed if it is not hidden by the respective contact person. It is not known when the new feature will be available in WhatsApp.

Microsoft is pulling the plug on Office 2019 in July
It ends on July 13th: On this day, the locally installed versions of Microsoft Office 2019 will largely stop working. The software manufacturer has now announced this in a support document. This step affects both the Mac version and the apps for iOS and iPadOS. The programs are then still able to open and print existing files. However, editing, recreating and saving are no longer possible. Anyone who is currently using the Office package, which was discontinued in October 2025, cannot avoid an update to Microsoft Office 2021 or the Microsoft 365 subscription version. Unless, of course, he decides to switch, for example to Apple’s Creator Studio or LibreOffice.
