Apple has now announced that it will close three more stores. The North County stores in Escondido, the store in Trumbull and Towson Town Center in Towson are affected. The company cites the departure of other retailers and the worsening conditions in the respective malls as the reason. The Towson case is somewhat sensitive because it is Apple’s first unionized US store. Incidentally, the employees in Trumbull and North County will continue their roles in nearby Apple Stores, while the Towson employees will be considered for other open positions at Apple under the existing collective bargaining agreement
Meta removes plaintiff advertising from law firms
In March, a court ruling caused a stir, which found that Meta and Google had “addictive design” that could potentially harm (underage) users. According to observers, this could set off an avalanche that suggests comparisons with “Big Tobacco”. Of course, specialized law firms immediately began looking for potential clients and working on class actions.
Advertisements for this could be found in abundance on Facebook or Instagram, but that is now over. According to Axios, Meta disabled such links this week, citing guidelines in accordance with its terms of service. These are fairly soft and define that ads that do not violate the terms and conditions but are harmful to the platform can also be deleted. If further judgments of this kind are made, the fear of damage is not unfounded – although these are likely to be primarily of a financial nature for Meta.
