In short: MacBook Neo and charging speed +++ F1 promo with Tim Cook in a tuned golf cart | News

The MacBook Neo is delivered in the USA with a 20W power supply, which you have to purchase separately in this country. The device does not support fast charging – according to Apple’s definition, that would mean charging 50 percent in 30 minutes. A test now wanted to find out whether it would be at least a little faster if you used a stronger adapter. The results can be summarized quite simply: Apple did not cap the charging speed at 20 watts, but not much beyond that is possible.

Regardless of whether you connect a power supply with 30, 96, 140 or even more watts, the MacBook Neo does not require more than 24 watts to charge – which once again draws a parallel to iPhones. The iPhone 16 Pro is very similar in size, which once again shows the close relationship. Is there any advantage at all to connecting a stronger “power adapter”? Certainly during operation, as this means there are larger reserves to power the device and refuel the battery at the same time. According to the test, just charging saves you about half an hour (2:23 instead of 2:59 hours – although the test is unfortunately based on charging forecasts and not on an entire run).

F1 promo with Tim Cook in a tuned golf cart
As is well known, Apple has acquired the rights for Formula 1 and will broadcast all races for US users starting this season. Just as there were an exceptionally large number of promotional events for the F1 film, Apple is also doing a lot of work at the start of the racing series. In a short clip, Tim Cook appears as an actor and tours the slopes of Apple Park in his golf cart. When the starting signal is given, you see how much Cook’s vehicle really has in it.

Apple published the clip via Tim Cook’s X account; the slogan of the advertising campaign is “The new US Home of F1”. By the way, the premiere took place last weekend with the Melbourne Grand Prix. According to feedback so far, Apple’s transfer offer was largely convincing.
